The 2018 Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli is here. Fields Racing will kick-off the season at the famed Sebring International Raceway in Florida, with Scott Lagasse Jr., behind the wheel of the No. 95 M1 Fastrack Road Racing Chevrolet Camaro in the TA2 class.

Scott Jr. is coming off a successful 2018 NASCAR Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway, where he hosted his 4th Annual “Scott Lagasse Jr. Champions for Bicycle Safety Ride”. Scott Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott and 60 other top-level cyclist, triathletes and Olympians rode a 45 mile fast paced ride to create awareness and humanize bicyclist with motorist on Florida roads. Scott Jr. then competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, where he was a threat for the win. He ran solidly in 2nd place for most of the final 30 laps with an exciting dash to the finish amongst the lead pack. Scott came away with a hard fought 5th place to continue his impressive string of top 10 finishes at the famed Daytona International Speedway.

Last season in Sebring, Scott Jr. started 14th in the TA-2 race and maneuvered his way toward the front and finished 8th. That was Scott Jr.’s 2nd ever TA-2 start and his 4th ever road race. He and Fields Racing will look to improve on the finish this weekend, with an overall goal of a solid points paying position at the front. Scott Jr. and Fields driver Kyle Marcelli will team up with the M1 Fastrack Road Racing Program in Road Atlanta for round 2 of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli.

The Atlanta weekend kicks-off with two test sessions on Friday. Teams and drivers will be able to knock off the rust, and begin dialing their cars in. Saturday, teams will have one practice session before they qualify on Saturday afternoon. The TA2 Race Powered by AEM is on Sunday, March 4, beginning at 3:05pm. The scheduled race distance is 27 laps or 70 minutes.
